After learning how to move your pieces, you will now learn what check is. Checking someone means that you have a piece that is attacking there king. To be in check means your opponent has a piece attacking your king. If you are in check, you may either move your king or use one of your pieces to block the attacking piece.

Step 10

After learning what check is, you will know learn the check mate. To check mate someone, you must have a piece attacking there king, and they cant stop you from taking it. If you have a piece attacking and they can not block or move the king, you have check mated them. If the king is able to move, you must have a piece attacking the squares that the king is able to move to.
